Iowa Man Reviews Busch Light 10 Years Ago and his Rating Was Incorrect

I want to start by saying I have to give a big shoutout to The Quiet Man. I'm not sure who he is but I enjoyed reading his blog about his first Busch Light beer experience dating back to 2013! This gentleman is from Mount Vernon, Iowa, and as far as I can tell...he used to be an internet blogger. I can't find anything about if he still blogs or not but he put together an article that has turned into a fun piece of history.

In his bio, The Quiet Man describes himself as 40, quiet, and shy. His obsession is everyday life. He loves the small and mundane. He is easily pleased. When he was a kid, his family would take long road trips, and he would entertain himself by simply looking out of his car window. He enjoyed simply admiring the landscape. he would study farms, houses, barns, and the faces of people in small towns. He tried to capture every last detail he could.

On November 6th, 2013, he reviewed his very first Busch Light experience. I enjoyed reading his thorough investigation and I sadly have to admit...I disagree with his rating.

Beer Of The Weekend #524 Busch Light

The Quiet Man describes this as an "unprecedented opportunity that I needed to take advantage of." The Busch Light he tried had a born date of September 9, 2013, which was printed on the bottom of the can.

He poured the beer into a pint glass and described the color as "pale straw." The smell is described as "musty adjunct grains and a bit of grassiness." It reminded him of college house parties, which is an incredibly true statement.

He goes on to describe the beer and its drinkability, explains how the beer was made, and gives a brief history of when Busch Light was introduced. Overall, I enjoyed reading what The Quiet Man wrote about his first Busch Light experience. Because that's what enjoying a Busch Light is. It's an experience.

The Quiet Man's Grade

Here is when the blog takes a turn for the worse! I was expecting a fabulous Busch Light score as I am a big Busch Light fan. He grades Busch Light with a D+/C-...?! What!? How? D+ is almost a failing grade in school!

Opinion

In 2013, I would've been 22 years old, which is an important age when it comes to your beer-drinking career. At 22 years old, you have one year under your belt if you choose to drink, and you've likely narrowed down some of your favorite adult beverages. When you walk into a bar, you have some experience in how to order a beer. You don't have to search far and wide to find something you know you'll enjoy.

22 is when I discovered that Busch Light is the perfect safety net. You know exactly what you're getting when you start to panic trying to figure out what to order. As an avid fan, I think Busch Light is one of the most versatile beers there is. You can enjoy 1 if you're going out for dinner. You can enjoy 3 or 4 if you're at a ball game. You can enjoy 6+ if you're sitting around a bonfire with your buddies or on December 31st as you count down the new year.

I personally never feel like I'm getting cheated out of a "better beer" when I drink a Busch Light. I'll switch it up once in a while if I'm having 1 or 2 at a smaller gathering. I might get something a bit heavier on occasion but if I end up with 1 or 2 Busch Lights, I don't feel like I missed out on anything. That's why I always give Busch Light an A grade. You can drink a couple and enjoy the great taste or you can drink 6+ and not feel full.

I'm also not here to yuck The Quiet Man's yum. It's perfectly fine if he didn't enjoy his first Busch Light experience. Everyone is allowed to enjoy whatever they like. I enjoyed reading his article and appreciate the time it took for him to articulate his story. I hope he finds this because I thought it was great and a fun read.

Maybe after all of the years, he's changed his mind?
