Kinnick Stadium is Hosting a Massive EA Sports College Football Tournament!
One of the biggest video games in the world right now is College Football 25.
Millions of kids on college campuses and video gamers around the world have had their first college football video game in 11 years, and fans of the popular video game franchise have responded. This game has been missed and is so beloved by fans that over 2 million people paid $99 for early access to the game.
According to OutKick, College Football 25 has seen more than 5 million players since the release date on July 19th. The game has made $500 million in the first two weeks of its release, and after not having an EA Sports NCAA college football game for the past 11 years, half of a billion dollars in a little under 2 weeks is incredible.
If you are one of the millions who have purchased College Football 25, you have the chance to test your skills at Kinnick Stadium and help raise money for the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children's Hospital.
Extra Life Charity Challenge - College Football 25
On September 28th, Kinnick Stadium is hosting the Extra Life Charity Challenge: College Football 25. You have 2 more months to memorize your favorite team's playbook, hone your skills on defense, and practice for this incredible charity event.
According to the Iowa Division of Student Life, "Registration is $25, though all gaming participants must also raise a minimum of $200 to participate in the single-elimination, bracket-style tournament."

There will be a limit of 240 gaming participants in a bracket-style tournament and all gaming participants must raise a minimum of $200. Whichever 240 participants can raise the $200 minimum first will gain entry to the tournament. The first 240 players will be allowed to meet Iowa Hawkeye players, and coaches, and hear stories from families who have used care at the hospital.
The PlayStation 5 will be the platform all games will be played on and you must be at least 18 years old to enter. The top 3 fundraisers will be awarded prizes, as well as the runner-up and the champion of the tournament! You can register now at Extra-Life.
If You Miss a Tournament Spot, You Can Still Enjoy the Event!
If you are not one of the first 240 to raise $200, you will not get a spot in the tournament but you are still allowed into Duke Slater Field where you will still be allowed to meet Iowa football players, coaches, and families of the hospital. Everyone is encouraged to try and raise the $200 if possible.
I Don't Play Video Games But Want to Enjoy the Event
If you want to enjoy the event and watch your friend, or family member, or just enjoy a day at the stadium, you're more than welcome to spectate the event with a $25 registration fee. Spectators can hang out in the Ted Pacha Family Club, play the new College Football 25 game for free, watch the tournament games, and participate in the silent auction.
If you're a gamer and have been enjoying the first two weeks of College Football 25, September 28 is the day to enjoy some friendly competition all for a great cause. For any additional details, please visit the Iowa Division of Student Life website.
