Seattle police are investigating a road rage incident that escalated into a stabbing on Thursday afternoon. The crash occurred just before 3 p.m. on the overpass at 7th Avenue and Madison Street in downtown Seattle, according to the Seattle Police Department.

Verbal Dispute Turns Physical

Officials say both drivers exited their vehicles and began arguing. SPD reports that the female driver, a 44-year-old woman, returned to her car while the male driver continued to approach her during the dispute. “As the man reached the driver’s side, the woman stabbed him in the neck,” police stated.

Victim Flags Down Passing Ambulance

After being stabbed, the man reportedly stumbled into the roadway before managing to signal a passing ambulance for help. Medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center with injuries described as potentially life-threatening.

Suspect Arrested at the Scene

Police say the woman remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. She was taken into custody without any issues and booked into the King County Jail on suspicion of assault.

The investigation is ongoing as detectives work to piece together what led up to the violent confrontation.
