12-year-old Iowa artist sells his paintings to help kids with cancer
Dubuque Iowa- A young boy in Iowa is making a big difference with his beautiful paintings, raising awareness and money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
"My inspiration for painting comes from giving back to the community. I started painting when I was eight years old and I've so far been painting for four years"-Arsh Pal
Ever since Arsh Pal started painting when he was 8 years old, his work has been taking off.
This extremely talented boy decided to use his skills to help others. He started selling his canvas paintings and donating all of the proceeds to St. Jude's Children's hospital because he wants to help kids with cancer.
"Originally, my first goal was raising $1,000 for St. Jude Research Hospital, and everybody kind of doubted me because I was so young, but when I did raise $1,000 everybody was surprised," Arsh said.
Over the past four years, Pal has raised more than $15,000. He was also honored with the Diana Award for his efforts.
"I received the Diana award because Princess Diana thought young people have the potential to change the world. It feels good that they looked for me and they chose me for the award."
The paintings that Arsh enjoys creating are abstract paintings, landscapes, and animal portraits.
