Why Was Over $9 Million Worth of Cars in LeClaire This Weekend?

Have you ever been surrounded by millions of dollars worth of cars at one time? It nearly takes your breath away. Nearly 300 Corvettes, with a collective value in the millions, came together on the levee in LeClaire to raise money for a worthy cause.

Vettes on the River is an annual event held on the last Saturday in August. Beautiful Corvettes of every color and body style were on display. Participants and attendees gathered together to honor and raise funds for Quad City area veterans.

Vettes on the River organizer, Sherry Zaruba Cassatt, said this year there were 288 registered Vettes for the event which raised $12,000 for QC area veterans. All the money stays local and although the event is over it's still possible to donate to support the event and the veterans it helps. You can click through here to their PayPal link.

$9 Million Dollars? Come On!

So the average fully loaded 2022 Corvette costs about $62,000. There were collector Vettes, pace cars, and mostly newer corvettes. If we were to estimate a conservative $35,000 as the average price of the Vettes on display in LeClaire this weekend, it comes to $8,750,000 worth of Corvettes at Saturday's event.

Feel free to check my math. But either way, that's a ton of fun (many tons actually) in one parking lot.
