Lovestruck Illinois Teens Shoot Family Members Who Disagree With Their Relationship
We've all dated at least one person our family didn't like.
A teen couple from East St. Louis is now facing charges after they took action against those who did not agree with their relationship.
The unnamed 15-year-old girl and 16-year-old Ja'ymier Davis are both facing charges, including first-degree murder after a situation on Sunday.
According to authorities, human remains of 3 people were found Sunday at the Samuel Gompers Homes, which is at the 400 block of North 6th Street. 4 other victims were found.
4 other victims were found: one person was also found fatally shot at 39th and Summit streets and another person was killed and 2 others injured at Jones Park.
All 7 victims were from the same family in East St. Louis, the family of the 15-year-old girlfriend.

The girl is being charged as a minor, while Davis is being charged as an adult.
The 4 family members that were shot and killed were: 49-year-old Cherie May (the girl's aunt), 25-year-old Shania Thompson (the girl's sister), 24-year-old Devin May (the girl's cousin), 21-year-old Quentin Thompson (the girl's brother), and 74-year-old Patricia May (the girl's grandmother, whose thumb was also found cut off). The girl's mother and cousin were also shot but survived.
Lamarion Smiley, a relative of the victims and the girl, said that the motive was that the teen's family didn't like her boyfriend, that the couple would do anything they had to do to be together. The couple had run away several times together but the girl's family always found them.
Smiley said:
They wanted to eliminate everybody that had a problem with the situation...We let her know, like, you're 15, you don't know what love truly is yet.
Besides first-degree murder, Davis is also facing adult charges of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery, aggravated vehicular hijacking, dismembering a human body, and unlawful use of a stolen firearm.
The girl is also facing charges, including first-degree murder.
