Get Your Car Seat Checked By Professionals In Davenport
Nothing is more important than your child's safety. When Ellie and I were expecting Caelyn, I made it a mission of mine to have the Davenport Fire Department make sure I had her car seat installed safely and correctly before she was born. She showed up 6-weeks early and while she was in the NICU at Genesis, the awesome firefighters let me stop to do a car seat safety check.
This weekend, caregivers and parents can stop at the Davenport Fire Department for a free car seat check and offer instructions on how to install a car seat in a vehicle properly. Whether you're a soon-to-be, brand-new, or longtime parent, this is a great service that everyone can benefit from.
The Davenport Fire Department is offering caregivers and parents the opportunity to learn the proper ways to install a car seat in a vehicle and make sure the one in your car now (if you have one) is installed properly.
In a social media post, the Davenport Fire Department said that this Saturday, March 25th from 9 a.m. to noon, car seat techs from the department will serve as instructors to provide education on car seat installation in the south side parking lot at Central Station (331 Scott Street).
If this Saturday or the fourth Saturday of every month doesn't work for you, you can make an appointment with the Davenport Fire Department here.
The Rock Island Fire Department and Medic EMS in Eldridge also offer car seat checks. Rock Island on the second Saturday of the month, Medic EMS on the third. Both are free of charge from 9 a.m. to noon like the Davenport Fire Department. See the full 2023 schedule here.
This service is free for anyone who wants to stop by.
