First Look: Dick’s House of Sport Opens in Cedar Rapids

It's finally here. The biggest sports store the city of Cedar Rapids has ever seen! Welcome to Dick's House of Sport!

Dick's House of Sports is Now Open!

The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that Dick's House of Sport in Cedar Rapids is now open. I can also confirm this, as I stopped by for the first time yesterday afternoon. The new sporting goods mecca takes up nearly 100,000 square feet of space in what used to be the old Sears store at Lindale Mall. Dick's already had a location at 4601 1st Ave. in Cedar Rapids. That location is now closed.

How is Dick's House of Sport Different From the Other Stores?

If you believe the old saying that 'bigger is better', Dick's House of Sport is the best. Simply put, it's the largest sporting goods store I've ever been to. It combines all the normal merchandise you'd expect to see at Dick's, with in-store experiences like a batting cage, rock-climbing wall, and golf simulators. And the selection of merchandise is second to none! Every shoe, every hat, every shirt. It's all there.

Grand Opening Celebration Is Next Week

While the new store is open now, the party starts next Friday with the Grand Opening celebration at Dick's House of Sport! There will be doorbuster deals, sweepstakes, and appearances from former Iowa Hawkeye stars Hannah Stuelke and Cooper DeJean!

The new Dick's House of Sport is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
