After a nail-biting game against Penn State, the Iowa Hawkeyes have moved to the #2 slot in the Week 7 AP Poll.

"The Associated Press began its college football poll on Oct. 19, 1936, and it is now the longest-running poll of those that award national titles at the end of the season," according to the AP. "The preseason poll was started in 1950. A panel of 62 sports writers and broadcasters from around the country votes on the poll weekly."

The team hasn't had this high of a ranking since they achieved the #1 slot in 1985 for the entire month of October.

Week 7 marks the fifth week of Iowa holding a Top 5 spot in the poll.

The rest of the AP's Top 10 brings more Big Ten teams: Ohio State at #6, Penn State at #7, Michigan at #8, and Michigan State at #10.

As the game ended in spectacular fashion, Iowa fans rushed the field to celebrate, making for some awesome photos.

As far as we could tell, there were only two students that made it on top of the goal posts, and both of them will probably tell that story until their last day.

One of my friends is a school administrator who uses his Apple Watch to monitor the volume of rooms kids are in to make sure they don't get too loud. His watch was going off like crazy during the ending of the game.

He said the decibel level stayed steadily between 103-107, but peaked out around 112. That's comparable to standing in a working steel mill.
