It was going to be a rip-roaring old school thrash and new school metal show at the Capitol Theatre in Davenport.  And it was.  Just not as rippin' as it could have been because of Mother Nature.  It was a real mother...yeah.

November 29, 2025, will go down in infamy as the day many of us almost saw Death Angel, VIO-LENCE, Lions at the Gate, and Misfire.

We Took A 10 Inch Pounding

While that much snow isn't a problem for some people who have really good vehicles, or are fearless on the roads, or just don't care...for many others, the sight of all that snow and the idea of driving in it for the concert were just too much.

Now I'm not going to lie to you.  I wasn't there.  My car in 1 inch of snow sucks a fat one.  So in 10 inches, I might as well just pull into the ditch and light it on fire.

However, what I was told from people there...even though the crowd was thin from the storm, the bands brought it like it was a packed house.  Our photographer, Tom, who took all the pics below, said it was awesome the way the bands made it feel huge, but realized with that sized crowd they could easily connect with each person there.

Our own Wonkzilla made the trip to the show and also praised all the bands for sounding great and not cutting anything short.

And to be clear, every band could have.  They could have slacked off and dicked around cause at the end of the day, they still got paid.  But for the metal warriors that went to the show, they all made sure it would be a show they wouldn't forget.

We're here to help you remember it...or to see what you missed.  Check out all the pics from all 4 bands below.  And (assuming the weather doesn't f things up) we'll see you at the next one.

Death Angel, VIO-LENCE, Lions at the Gate, Misfire

It was a snowy night in the Quad Cities with some old-school thrash metal at the Capitol Theatre. If you missed it cause of the weather, you can check out what you missed here.
