Comedy Sportz QC is back. The improvisational comedy group has set up shop in The Spotlight Studio in Moline and is now looking to add more quick-witted performers to their roster.

ComedySportz Quad Cities’ new owner, Bob Kelly, (who started with the troupe in 1999) and Director of Operations, Rick Davis,(who has been with them since 1993) talked with me about bringing back a Quad Cities institution.

Learning How to do improv has benefits off stage too.

"The cornerstone of improv is this idea of "yes, and".  You don't shoot down ideas so quickly. You're a little bit more willing to hear somebody out. I feel like people are listening with the idea of "what am I going to say next" but improv really teaches that skill of listening in order to really understand."

-Bob Kelly

"I think for many of us we think, "eh, performance, comedy, that's not me".  I would argue that improv is the best life skills development you could ever take.  Because you're learning confidence, you're learning communication, you're learning trust, listening, teamwork...all that kind of stuff.  It's a crash course on all those skills and you see how it serves you outside of performance, in your daily life"

-Rick Davis

When will Comedy Sportz perform?

ComedySportz returns to the Quad Cities at The Spotlight Studio in Moline, IL, this November.

Not sure what Comedy Sportz actually is? I guess I should've started with that, huh?

ComedySportz is a fast-paced, all-ages improvisational comedy show using audience suggestions in a highly-competitive match between a red team and a blue team. The teams compete for laughs and our loyal fans decide the winner. There is no script or plan ahead of time resulting in an interactive, hysterical, and non-stop experience for both the players and the audience.
