Avelo Airlines Announces Dubuque Expansion and New Nonstop Destination
The Dubuque Airport, in conjunction with Avelo, announced today they've expanded operations and have added a new flight destination for flyers. Several representatives gathered at the airport on Thursday, June 22nd, to make the announcement.
Avelo Airlines announced today that it's expanding its service from Dubuque Regional Airport with nonstop flights to Las Vegas, NV. Introductory one-way fares between DBQ and Las Vegas' Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) start at $69.
Previously, Avelo Airlines offered flights between Dubuque and Orlando on Wednesdays and Saturdays via a Boeing 737 aircraft, which is capable of holding up to 189 passengers. Avelo Airlines arrived in Dubuque in March 2023, which also marked the return of commercial air service to Dubuque Regional Airport after American Airlines ended service for the Tri-States in September 2022.
We are excited to add nonstop service between Central Iowa and the Entertainment Capital of the World. We have been very encouraged by the initial response to Avelo's arrival at DBQ and believe Las Vegas will be an equally popular addition. Going to Vegas and enjoying everything this top travel destination has to offer is now easier and more affordable than ever.
Avelo's exclusive twice-weekly nonstop service between DBQ and Las Vegas begins on September 13, 2023. Avelo will operate the flight on Wednesdays and Saturdays utilizing Boeing Next Generation (NG) 737 aircraft, per the release.
Dubuque Mayor Brad Cavanagh spoke with optimism that this is another step in getting Dubuque residents access to flights to be able to travel to multiple destinations around the country:
As we work to restore full connection by air from the Dubuque Regional Airport to the rest of the U.S. we could not be more excited with this news today of a new nonstop flight to Las Vegas. Avelo has been an incredible partner, and we thank them for this additional flight and their continued partnership in the years ahead.
