Another Look At The Ghost Who Haunts Our Davenport Radio Station
Some of our studios in the Rock 'n' Roll Mansion are getting remodeled, It's so cool to see a studio get gutted, and then turned into something absolutely amazing. Some of the technology is so advanced it feels like you're in a spaceship.
That also means a lot of new people are in the building, I hear them joke about the creepy basement, and some even refuse to go down there. Even people who don't know the history of the mansion know there is something off. It got me thinking about the three biggest ghost sightings we've had here.
The Studios
Before we get into the ghosts, here is what the studios look like, the US 104.9 studio is almost done.
Others still have a long way to go.
Some say that whenever you do work on an old building it can start to stir up the restless spirits of that building. Sometimes I am the first one in the mansion early in the morning, and sometimes it does feel creepy. Over the last week, I've heard weirder noises than usual, so again I figured it would be fun to scare myself more by looking at these weird photos.
The History Of The Building
This is a quick recap for anyone who doesn't know about the long history that our building has had in Davenport.
The building became a radio station in the late 1980s and now has countless ghost stories. From a lady in white haunting engineers at night to staff hearing chapel music and singing while no studio was on, to countless footsteps when no one is around. One story I was told even mentioned ceiling tiles being physically moved.
The elevator to the basement was once also said to have a male figure looming in it before the doors were finally nailed shut. I have talked about this building's past before. That history sure is a long and creepy one that many love to hear about. This building did after all start out as a state-of-the-art funeral home.
That's right we play the greatest music in the Quad Cities out of a very old funeral home.
