2 Steakhouses in Illinois made the list of “Best in the US”
Illinois is known for Deep-Dish Pizza, Hot Dogs loaded with toppings, and Steaks...? A list of the 50 best steakhouses in the US has been released and 2 of the steakhouses on this list are in the Land of Lincoln, one of them is in the top 10!
A list called the 50 Best Steakhouses in the US was created by the travel website farandwide.com, and two of the top 30 ranked steakhouses on the list come from Illinois. At number 30 on the list is a place in Chicago called Bavette's Bar & Boeuf, and at number 9 on the list is a place called Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse, so what makes these two places really special?
On the site, they say this about the #30 ranked Bavette's Bar & Boeuf...
"Bavette's is a modern take on the traditional steakhouse, complete with leather booths, velvet couches and impressive chandeliers. Of course, it brings in a French flair to both its Chicago and Las Vegas locations with "le bouef" — several cuts of steak that are dry-aged for 42 days and topped with a classic bearnaise sauce."
The site goes on to say this about the #9 ranked Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse...
"The atmosphere is lively, the martinis are on point, and the guest list is fancy. The original Gibsons location is a Chicago staple, packed with prime cuts to please the palate. The menu is uncomplicated, with steak choices that include filet mignon, t-bone, porterhouse and New York strip. Sides are equally as traditional, with several potato preparations, grilled asparagus and creamed spinach."
I had some incredible steaks in Chicago when I lived there at places like Ditka's Steak House, and Morton's, those places aren't on the list and these places are, so if the steaks at Gibsons and Bavette's are that good, then it looks like I'm taking a trip back to Chicago sometime soon!
