The NFL is back for another season and while some fans have visions of a Super Bowl victory, others are looking forward to the 2025 NFL Draft.  What about the Chicago Bears?  Clearly they will be better than a top pick in the draft.  But how good can they be?

If they can be as good as some people predict, they could be accomplishing a feat never before achieved in the NFL.

With the hype of the new season and Caleb Williams ready to take the field for the first meaningful action fans will be glued to the games on the TV and radio.

I asked a lifelong Bears fan to chime in on what he thinks the Bears can do this year.

From Townsquare Media's Eric Hutchens:

It’s hard to be optimistic about a Bears season. History has shown over the past 30 years it's hard since the Bears have just made the playoffs 7 times.

But is this year going to be different? We all hear we finally have a QB Caleb Williams, but history once again is not on the Bear's side. 84 Quarterbacks have started a game for the Bears in the past 30 years and No QB has thrown over 4,000 yards in a season.

But this season feels different.

The Bears have finally upgraded and surrounded Williams with talent.  Great wide receivers like DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, and 1st Round Draft Pick Rome Odunze, and the running back position is a strength with the addition of D’Andre Swift.

With all the talent on offense and a top 5 defense back from last year. There are still some concerns about the year like depth on the offensive line.  Will Nate Davis and Tevin Jenkins stay healthy for the whole year?

Defensive Line is another area of concern and who will step up as the other edge rusher opposite Montez Sweat?

Optimism is high this year for me. We finally have a GM who has done a great job in upgrading the talent on this roster to compete and maybe this year the Bears make the Playoffs. With a favorable schedule this year can the Bears finally get a 4,000 yard passer with Caleb Williams...and can they make the playoffs???

No rookie quarterback has won a Super Bowl.  In fact, no rookie quarterback has even made it to the Super Bowl.

The Bears are currently +3500 to win the Super Bowl.  This puts them right in the middle of the pack of the NFL with 14 teams having better odds.  But if they can get into the playoffs, you never know what will happen after that.

The season begins Sunday, September 8th and you can hear the game, and all Chicago Bears games on ESPN 1170 AM and 104.1 FM!
