Illinois Police Increasing DUI Patrols Now Through Labor Day
Since residents like to party during the Labor Day Weekend, Illinois police are stepping up their DUI patrols to make sure everyone stays safe during the holiday.

It's hard to believe that in 2024 we still have to tell the residents of Illinois to not drink and drive. These types of campaigns have been around as long as I can remember. The effects of alcohol on a driver and the consequences of getting behind the wheel haven't changed. Sadly, they'll still try to get away with it.

Of course, getting arrested for a DUI isn't good. It will cost a lot of money, which you might not have. There's the potential of going to jail. Also, not something you want to do. Even worse, you could seriously injure or kill an innocent person.
Drivers especially get careless around fun holidays. Well, the next one is coming up. That's Labor Day Weekend. That's definitely known as a drinking weekend with all of the BBQs, parties, festivals, and other celebrations.
The police departments throughout Illinois during weekends like this one do everything in their power to avoid unnecessary casualties because of drinking and driving. They try educating residents on how bad it is to do. It's an annual thing, there will be increased patrols during this time to catch the under-the-influence lawbreakers.
I know some people get upset when drivers are given a heads-up about the increased DUI patrols. My thought process is whatever works to keep them from hitting the streets drunk, I'm all about that.
So remember. if you're hitting the party trail this weekend, then please don't drink and drive. Make sure you have a designated driver and some sort of ride to get home safely. There are so many options out there nowadays, you don't need to be wasted and get behind the wheel of a vehicle.
