There are small scams happening every day around the country that most of us just accept because what choice do we really have?

We took it to Facebook to ask what small scams have become "normal" to accept these because it's totally out of our control.  The responses from Illinois residents did not disappoint.

We're not talking scams where someone steals your entire identity or drains your bank account, no.  We're talking about every day stuff that we pay for without even questioning it.

I'd start with hotel check-in and check-out times.  Why is check-in so late in the afternoon and check-outs are by 11am usually?  And, if you stay past 11am, you have to pay extra to be in that room.  That's insane.

The Little Rip-Offs In Life We’ve All Just Accepted in Illinois

Let's continue the ridiculousness with license plate sticker renewal every year.  um, it should be a one-time fee and we should be good to go.  That's a total scam.

The Illinois Tollway is another fun scam to tap into.  You drive 30 minutes and suddenly owe $13 that goes toward roads that barely even get fixed.

Movie theater concession prices... this is why people are so tempted to sneak in snacks.  I've done it, not gonna lie there.  A bucket of popcorn should NOT cost more than minimum wage, change my mind.

Renters insurance is literally just you paying to protect someone else's property, and life insurance only pays out if you die within the term.

Oh, my favorite one: APARTMENT APPLICATIONS.  Why do landlords charge an application fee?  You want the place occupied, but want people to pay to simply view it?  Boy, bye.

And the worst one: credit card processing fees.  That used to never be a thing, or not nearly as much as it is now.

I'm just saying, everything in life is a little scammy to an extent.  All we do is sigh, swipe our cards, and accept that we're overpaying.  Complaining won't get us a refund, that's for sure.

What’s a small scam we all just accept as “normal”?  Tell me your thoughts!
