Everyone has a favorite Thanksgiving side dish that must be at the feast, or the holiday is completely ruined.

Every year, my mom and dad host Thanksgiving at their house because they have the least crowded kitchen.  Let's be real, nobody wants to host any holiday party, but someone's gotta do it.  So, thanks, mom and dad!

My mom always cooks pineapple and cherry glazed ham, with stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a Walmart pie to top off her offerings.

I usually just sit on the couch and wait for dinner to be ready.  Don't hate, I gotta prepare for the food coma I'm about to be in for the next 36 hours.

If there's one side dish I always hope makes it to our family Thanksgiving, it's deviled eggs.  Not sure if it's considered a side dish, but it def is to me!

Does the rest of Illinois agree that deviled eggs are a MUST-HAVE?

REVEALED: Most Popular Thanksgiving Side Dish In Illinois

Welp, I was way off. Illinois residents love, love, love green bean casserole.

This is the one time I'll be proud of us.  A very good choice, indeed.

Green bean casserole literally has four ingredients:

  • Green beans
  • Condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • Cheddar cheese
  • French-fried onions

Plus, it only takes about 25 minutes to make in total.  Easy!

Whatever is on the Thanksgiving table this year, I know it hates to see me comin'.  My fork and knife are ready to dig in, I already picked out my fat pants.  Can never be too prepared.
