Did anyone else take a midday nap this week because the heat has been so unbearable?  Because same.

I called my dad after work to see what he was up to, and he was taking a nap because he was too hot from being outside.  It can be dangerous for certain age groups, don't underestimate the power of the sun!

The past few weeks have been pretty brutal in Illinois with this heat index nearly topping 100 degrees.  We asked for summer, and Mother Nature didn't disappoint that's for sure.

It's been sticky, humid, and moist outside to the point where nobody can enjoy the last bit of summer.  I caved and took a midday nap just to get my energy back!

Too Hot to Function: Heat Naps Take Over Illinois

Heat naps are taking over Illinois right now.  And honestly, I don't blame anyone for wanting to get some shut eye after spending even one second in the heat.  Our bodies are begging for a break from the sun, so listen to it!  You're not being lazy; you're cooling down during a massive heatwave.  It's expected.

If you don't want to rest, you can always re-hydrate!

Crank your AC, turn on your air purifiers, and pop a squat on your couch for a much-deserved heat nap.  That's exactly what I'll be doing all week long to keep my overall well-being healthy and happy!
