In what may be a new underworld version of finding an onion ring in your fries, one female customer got more than she bargained for with her order.

A Sonic employee was arrested last week after a woman who ordered a Coney dog didn't get the extra relish, but she did get some cocaine she didn't want.

The female customer, who wasn't named in the report, went through the Sonic Drive-In located in Espanola, New Mexico, and ordered a Coney - the delicious hot dog topped with warm chili and melted cheddar cheese.

After she bit into the hot dog, she made the disturbing discovery that it wasn't the chili dog she was eating a plastic bag filled with a mystery powder of some kind. She immediately called the authorities.

The woman does not believe she ingested any of the powder while the baggie was in her mouth, according to the incident report from the Espanola Police Department.

A Sonic employee who is 54 years of age was arrested and faces a felony charge for possession of a controlled substance, police say. He was identified as employee Jeffrey David Salazar.

The incident happened on Tuesday at one of the Sonic drive-thrus in New Mexico.

Police believe that Jeffrey David Salazar was preparing her order and inadvertently placed in the food as Salazar was preparing her order.

According to the authorities, a field test confirmed that the substance was cocaine.

On Tuesday, Salazar was seen on video surveillance performing 'what appeared to be a hand to hand transaction with a female employee,' according to an affidavit for the arrest warrant.

He was then seen preparing the customer's order until he discovers that something seems to be misplaced, and he grew frantic. Salazar told officers he bought the cocaine outside in the parking lot.
