The Best Iowa Moments So Far On “The Golden Bachelorette”
TV makes it seem like we can't make the argument there aren't good bachelors in Iowa.
Thank God the dating television world is finally broadening it's horizons and including more demographics besides Young Attractive People™ and are now welcoming older singles. "The Golden Bachelorette" is on now and features several connections to Iowa.
There were some great, very Midwestern moments already and we're only on Episode 2 of the show's inaugural season.
1. Jordan, a senior sales exec, revealed that he went to the University of Iowa...during a game of cornhole.
He lives in Chicago.
2. Jonathan (the 61-year-old shipping consultant from Oakland) shucked corn during a barbecue.
Iowans and corn go together like peas and...well you know.
3. The two native Iowans got group roses and are rocking it.
Besides Jonathan, Dan Roemer (a Des Moines native who now lives in Naples, Florida) also got a group date rose before the other contestants even got a shot at the rose ceremony. This secures them a spot for next week.
The gents have created some wholesome moments that scream Iowa. It's making men in our part of the country look good and for that, I applaud them. The 'Golden' side of the franchise seems to be leaning into Iowa, with the first Golden Bachelor being from here.
We'll have to see who the Golden Bachelorette, Joan Vassos, picks for her new beau. She sent 4 men home this week. You can catch it on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. on ABC.
