Winter has arrived back in the Quad Cities after more than 2 inches of snow was dumped on the area Saturday night into Sunday morning. Now that things are back to normal and we have snow on the ground, get ready for more to be added to it, especially if you live in Illinois. Officials say there is a very strong potential for accumulating snow to impact the area midweek and a lot of that snow will fall in Illinois.

The National Weather Service of the Quad Cities says more snow is expected in the Quad Cities area during the middle of the week. Snowfall reports say Davenport saw 2.8 inches of snow over the weekend, Altona, IL saw 3.4 inches, and Muscatine reported 3.2 inches.

Officials from the National Weather Service of the Quad Cities say there is a solid chance that the Quad Cities will see an inch of snow or more. The potential for 2 inches of snow or more decreases, but areas near Macomb and Peoria still have a strong chance for large snow accumulation amounts.

Officials say that the snow is expected to begin late Tuesday night and continue into Wednesday evening with the best chance for snow to be to the southeast of a line from Cedar Rapids to Dubuque.

There are no predictions on the amount of snow we could see fall in the Quad Cities. All we know is that there is another chance during the midweek and we should be ready for it.
