So many people in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois that really need help due to food insecurity are getting a lot of help thanks to America' #1 grocery store.

The #1 grocery store in the U.S. which is based in Iowa is donating more than $655,000 to a local food bank that many people utilize in the community. This food bank will be receiving the money this week which is great news.

The money that is being donated is coming from the grocery store, but it really is coming from the amazing shoppers that have been rounding up their grocery bills for almost 2 years.

The donation to River Bend Food Bank represents funds collected through the register round up campaign in the Quad Cities area Hy-Vee stores and Fast & Fresh locations. All funds collected at the stores throughout the campaign go directly to River Bend Food Bank to benefit their network of food pantries.

In addition to customer donations, Hy-Vee collaborated with national food manufacturers and suppliers to provide food and funds benefiting the 19 Feeding America partner food banks in its nine-state region.
