Christmas and the holiday season have officially come to an end. If you had some time in between the snow and the cold to take down all of your holiday decor, you're ahead of the game and on the same page as me. I took down my Christmas lights right before the snow and rain came down at the same time.

But inside, many people in the Quad Cities have trees up that should definitely be down by now. I mean, it's January 6th; let's not be lazy anymore.

Some people keep it old-school and still opt for a real Christmas tree. Others (and by others, I mean normal people) pack up their artificial tree in the box that has magical stretching powers to get that tree back in there for the next 11 months.

Even sometimes, those artificial trees get some wear and tear on them and I'm sure some people have used their fake trees for the final time this past Christmas. Whether you're throwing away a real Christmas tree or a fake one, this is how you do it in the Quad Cities.

Davenport

The City of Davenport is picking up Christmas trees for curbside collection on resident's regular solid waste collection day but the collection ends this Friday, January 10. Curbside collection will not resume until Monday, April 7.

Officials say if you miss your chance to set the live tree for collection, live trees can still be dropped off at the Davenport Compost Facility located at 2707 Railroad St.

Moline

Crews in Moline have begun Christmas tree pickups throughout the city. If you plan on getting rid of your Christmas tree, it must be completely bare and placed at the location of your normal waste pickup.

Bettendorf

Bettendorf ends picking up Christmas trees on Tuesday, Jan. 7th. Artificial trees can be disposed of year-round during your bulky waste day.

Rock Island

The City of Rock Island is offering a free Christmas tree collection from January 6th until January 17th. Christmas trees should be placed at the normal garbage set-out point on the resident’s garbage collection day and the tree should be bare.
