Could Monday Night Football End YouTube TV and Disney Fight?
As a YouTube TV subscriber, I have been frustrated with the carrier's ongoing dispute with Disney. I can't watch anything on any ESPN network, and I've lost my local ABC affiliate, KCRG. Fortunately, I haven't missed too many big games until tonight.
Monday Night Football on ABC/ESPN Tonight
If you're an NFL fan, you know tonight's Monday Night Football game is one of the best of the season. The Green Bay Packers host the Philadelphia Eagles at Lambeau Field. Two of the top teams in the NFC battle it out in frigid temperatures on the frozen tundra of Green Bay. It's must-see TV! Unless you have YouTube TV. Monday Night Football is broadcast on both ABC and ESPN, channels that YouTube TV subscribers don't have right now.
Could a New Deal be Reached Today?
It has been more than 10 days since Disney channels went dark on YouTube TV. Both sides appear dug in. However, perhaps the loss of a huge MNF game to millions of subscribers has finally got the ball rolling. Deadline reports that sources familiar with negotiations say that YouTube submitted a revised proposal to Disney over the weekend. While neither side is commenting, it's a step in the right direction.
How do I watch the Game if No Deal is reached?
If a deal isn't reached prior to tonight's big game, you have a couple of options. Get an antenna and dial in KCRG for free over the air. Or get a free trial of a streaming service that carries ESPN and ABC.
I'm going with Sling and it's one day pass, so I don't miss the big game!
