There Are More Than 60 New Foods Coming to the 2025 Iowa State Fair

The list has finally arrived!

Every July, the Iowa State Fair announces a long list of new foods that will make their debut the following month at the fair. The 2025 foods were just revealed this week (July 8th), and there are more than 60 that fairgoers will be able to try from August 7th through 17th!

Although we have the full list of new foods, we won't know which ones will be up for the 2025 Best New Fair Food Award until next week. Brain and I have been invited (with a little light begging) to the official judging event at the fairgrounds next Tuesday, July 15th, and we could NOT be more excited. You'll be able to watch the event via a Facebook live stream that day at 1 p.m.!

Until then, here are some of the 2025 creations that we are the most excited (or most curious!) about:

• Bacon Chicken Ranch Eggroll from Winn & Sara’s Kitchen -  An eggroll filled with chicken, bacon, white cheddar cheese, and ranch
• Bacon Popcorn from Zag’s Popcorn
• The Butcher's Donut from DG Grille - A gluten-free donut made with bacon, ground beef, Graziano sausage, and spices, rolled in rice puffs, fried, and topped with BBQ glaze, queso and chives, then served on a bed of corn tortilla chips
• Capn Crunch Berry Funnel Cakes from Jada's Funnel Cake - Funnel cakes topped with Crunch Berry cereal and powdered sugar
• Caramel Apple Delight from Waffle Chix - Caramel apple candy melted inside a Belgian waffle and topped with cinnamon sugar and caramel sauce, then served on a stick
• Chicken Pickle Ranch Rocket On A Stick from JR’s SouthPork Ranch - Sweet, dill, and garlic pickles skewered with grilled chicken and drizzled in a zesty ranch butter glaze

• Choc O Tater from Iowa Specialty Crop Growers Association - A chocolate-dipped treat filled with mashed potatoes, shredded coconut, and powdered sugar, chilled and dunked in dark chocolate and topped with a raspberry and lemon drizzle
• Deep Fried Banana S’mores from Taylor Concessions - Deep-fried warm bananas and melted chocolate

• Deep Fried PBJ with Nutella from The Bird's Nest - Peanut butter and chocolate hazelnut fried in and topped with powdered sugar and Nutella drizzle
• Double Bacon Cheese Burger Balls from Bacon Box - Ground beef, pickle, ketchup, and mustard meatballs stuffed with cheddar cheese, wrapped in bacon, rotisserie smoked, and served with a secret burger sauce
• Fairgrounds Fiesta Wonton from Cluckin’ Coop - A fried wonton filled with egg salad, jalapenos, bacon, cheddar cheese, and zesty seasoning, topped with hot honey and pico de gallo
• Flamin' Hot Pickle Pizza from Leimon’s Pizzeria - A twist on last year's Garlic Ranch Pickle Pizza, topped with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos dust
• Footlong Hot Cheetos Corn Dog from Smiths - A footlong corn dog dipped in nacho cheese and rolled in crumbled Flamin’ Hot Cheetos

• Lobster Biscuits & Gravy from JR’s SouthPork Ranch - Cheesy biscuits covered in buttery lobster gravy
• Maple Bacon Bourbon Grilled Cheese from What’s Your Cheez? - Maple bread layered with maple bourbon cream cheese, maple bourbon cheddar, and bourbon maple candied bacon, grilled and served with a maple bourbon raspberry dipping sauce
• Nashville Hot Chicken Mac N' Cheese Pizza from Wiseguys Woodfired Pizza - A slice of pizza topped with shredded chicken with a sweet and spicy rub, melted mozzarella cheese, a secret hot sauce, and a local hot honey drizzle
• Philly Cheese Steak Twisters from Grater Taters - Fried potato twisters topped with steak, grilled onions, and Monterey Jack cheese
• Saigon Lobster Bomb from Saigonais -  A fried French baguette coated in a seasoned batter with lobster and served with hoisin sauce and sriracha
• Scotcheroo Ice Cream Shake from Over The Top - A shake made with handmade peanut butter–butterscotch scotcheroo ice cream, fudge, and chewy chunks, topped with whipped cream, caramel, chocolate, and a full scotcheroo
• Sloppy Dog from The Snack Box - An all-beef hotdog in a New England-style bun and topped with homemade sloppy joe and shredded cheese
• Sweet Swine Stack Attack from Bubbly Bar - Barksdale’s State Fair Chocolate Chip Cookies, cheese curds, and bacon in between two slices of grilled sourdough bread
• Three Little Pigs from Whatcha Smokin? BBQ - Three oak-smoked ham balls: (1) honey mustard with cornbread crumbles, (2) cherry soda with Maraschino cherries, and (3) a vanilla glaze dusted with powdered sugar
• Voodoo Fries from Po-Boys - Battered salt and pepper fries topped with chili pepper queso, bacon, ranch, black magic seasoning, and chives
