“World Naked Bike Rides” Start This Month In Illinois & Wisconsin

The World Naked Bike Rides date back to the early 2000s, when the focus of the sans-clothing, pedal-powered events was basically about calling out cars, trucks, vans, and other fossil-fuel powered vehicles for polluting the planet.

Well, it seems that no matter how many people around the world stripped down to nothing and hopped on a too-small bicycle seat for a ride around their various cities, cars and trucks and vans and all of those other pollution-belching vehicles haven't gone away.

Nowadays, the theme of the World Naked Bike Rides is all about body positivity, inclusion, and the virtues of a cycling existence (while still complaining about cars)--and these rides are just about to start throughout the Midwest and the rest of the country.

If You Haven't Yet Decided On What To Do And Where To Go Over Your Summer Vacation, Why Not Spend It Driving Around The Midwest To See Naked People On Bikes?

This isn't an event that's exclusive to the United States, either. This year's World Naked Bike Rides will take place in 70 cities across 20 countries, and very high levels of participation are expected in every one of the cities taking part.

Here in the Midwest, the first of the Naked Bike Rides takes place this weekend (Saturday, June 15th) in Madison Wisconsin, where they're marking their 14th year of naked bike riding.

If The June 15th Naked Bike Ride In Madison Doesn't Work For You Schedule-Wise, There Are Other Midwestern Naked Bike Rides That Might

You could take the ride up to Milwaukee for their Naked Bike Ride on Saturday, June 22nd, or head into Chicago for their ride the following Saturday, June 29th.

You'll have to wait until July 27th for St. Louis to do their Naked Bike Ride. Judging by the photo below, they just don't have anyone in St. Louis who looks good naked, or they probably would have used their photo for this. It's pretty sad, St. Louis:
