People ask me why we do the I-Host 93.5 thing.  This is why.  Each week listeners hear something different.  Something new.  Old.  Or in this week's case, from around the world.  Thanks Dave for being this week's I-Host!

  1. My name is Dave Jennings. I reside in Clinton, IA with my wife, three sons, and one very naughty cat.
  2. I guess I love Hard Rock for a few reasons. Being raised on the Classics of Rock (LedZep, Doors, Beatles, Pink Floyd), I evolved into harder and harder artists.  I’m naturally a moderately caffeinated/energetic/intense kind of guy.  Metal has really been the only thing that keeps up with the ‘ol brain when it’s firing on all cylinders.  The intensity, the passion, the remorse, the love, the hate; I love all their contributions to the genre.  It’s what sets it apart from that country and pop crap.  It’s visceral.  It’s in your face and won’t ever give up.
  3. My current favorite artists are Tool and Opeth. I just can’t get enough of them.  Opeth is a prog-metal band from Stockholm.  Very, very cool. And Fear Inoculum is just too good to NOT listen to.   I’ve been listening to Megadeth, Slayer, and Pantera for 30 years and still listen to them obsessively, as well.
  4. I’ve seen a ton of artists at a ton of venues, but there are some standouts.  I saw three of the Big Four at the Eagle’s Ballroom in Milwaukee, WI.  Antrax, Megadeth and Slayer.  Man, that was a LOUD show. My ears still rang 3 days later.  I saw Dethklok and Mastodon at the historic Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL.  It was filmed and released as MASTODON: Live at The Aragon.  Maybe you’ve heard of it?  My crew and I were there. (Shouts to Tom, The Kid and Holland) I saw Primus at the Val-Air Ballroom in DesMoines, IA and that show was their longest and best of the 6 or so times I’ve seen them.   Also, at these shows the artists played albums in entirety.  Primus, Green Naughahyde.  Slayer, Seasons in the Abyss. Mastodon, Crack the Skye.  Pretty cool.
