Missouri authorities are reminding residents in their area to remember to check the background of their photos, specifically, “Make sure your drugs are not in the background.”

In a Facebook post, the sheriff in Stone County, Missouri said that a resident in his jurisdiction “posted a catalytic converter for sale on Marketplace and… he left his large bag of meth and syringe on the coffee table.”

Luckily, a citizen with a keen eye spotted the drugs and syringe on the table, and alerted the authorities. The sheriff said the guy was shocked when they showed up at his door with a search warrant.

"Today we arrived at this gentleman’s house with a search warrant. You can imagine his surprise!! He still had 48 grams of meth and a pistol that he is forbidden to own! We have now provided him a new place to stay. Sorry folks, his catalytic converters are not for sale right now."

If you were interested, the listing for the catalytic converters has been taken down. Shockingly enough, the catalytic converters were new in a box.

A lot of the catalytic converters shared to marketplaces or swap sites are not obtained...legally. The precious metals inside of the converters are worth quite a bit of money, so thieves will crawl under vehicles with a saws-all to cut them off. They then take the converters to a junkyard or another buyer to sell.
