Another event that we missed out on in 2020...is back this year!  The Rock Island District will once again be turned into a Caribbean party with "Ya Maka My Weekend".  Saturday, August 14 taking up the entire District area.

Ya Maka My Weekend celebrates the Caribbean culture with great food, live music and more! Once again Downtown Rock Island will transform into a tropical paradise with reggae and steel drum music, Caribbean cuisine, and a market offering authentic island wares.

Ya Maka My Weekend has been a tradition since 1992 and continues to evolve and grow as a signature Rock Island District event.  Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy live music from Jumbies, Baby J & Golden Street Band, Drea & Zion Iyahbinghi, Universal Expression, Indika and more.
